Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences, which offer luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specializing in mental healthcare for older adults (age 55 and over); and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.

Grounded in the Jewish values of dignity, compassion, and community, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living—fondly referred to in the past as "the Jewish Home"—was founded in 1871. Today, 150 years later, it continues to build upon its legacy of enriching the lives of older adults.

Overview:
The Director of Admissions provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the admissions function at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL). This position plays a vital role in achieving census and occupancy goals by guiding a high-performing team, building strong referral networks, and ensuring a positive experience for prospective residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Admissions department

  • Develop and implement census growth strategies in collaboration with leadership

  • Foster relationships with referral sources and community partners

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain accurate records

  • Collaborate across departments to support seamless resident transitions

  • Provide coaching, performance management, and development opportunities for admissions staff

  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation within the department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or current nursing license (required)

  • Minimum of 3 years in admissions or a related field, with 2+ years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare admissions processes, including insurance and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

  • Experience with EMR systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Background in skilled nursing or long-term care settings

  • Familiarity with non-profit healthcare environments and HIPAA compliance
