Nestled in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus, the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences, offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center, featuring long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55; and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.

What you’ll do as a Life Enrichment Coordinator:
- Provide an opportunity for socializing and creative self-expression encouraging healthy relationships among residents and their family and friends.
- Create a positive, caring, stimulating and purposeful environment.
- Motivate residents to become actively involved in community life to maintain or develop physical, mental and social abilities.
- Respond to the needs and abilities of the residents using a person-centered care approach.
- Provide one-to-one relationships with residents who decline to participate in group activities, or who are unable to attend group activities.
- Attend to important emotional needs for residents and their families by providing psychosocial support in times of difficulty or crisis, for example problems in adjustment to communal, aging, illness or daily living.
- Responsible for timely completion of documentation in the resident’s electronic health record to include attendance and other activity notes as deemed appropriate, for example progress notes reporting any changes in resident’s condition or unusual occurrences.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other departments in the community, in particular Health & Wellness, Dining, Resident Services, Volunteer Services as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Oversee student interns and volunteers who are involved with activities.
- Report any changes in resident condition to management in a timely manner.
- Consultation with the resident’s family members, as directed.

For you to be a successful Life Enrichment Coordinator:
- Bachelor’s degree in area related to field (recreational therapy, psychology, health care, geriatrics, social work, or recreation administration), preferred.
- Two years’ experience working within a geriatric group and related field, preferred.
- Solid group work, organizational and communication skills.
- Creative, flexible, energetic, enthusiastic, resourceful, self-motivated, innovative thinker, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and within an interdisciplinary teamwork approach.
- Must be sensitive to varying levels of physical and emotional health.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, religions, etc.
